Fall is a State of Mind

Fall is here: crisp air, colorful leaves, boots, sweaters, scarves, rain – well, at least in some parts of the country. For places with steady warm temperatures, autumn remains a state of mind instead of a visual reminder of seasons changing. And this week we’re going to share what fall is like in our neck of the woods.

Having grown up in a country where there’s no such thing as autumn it’s still hard for me to get jazzed about fall – with no Halloween or Thanksgiving, and some years no Christmas either, the ending months of the year were filled with swimming, end-of-school-year exams, visits to the bush, etc. Fast forward more than a few years and you’ll find me on the west coast with a slightly bemused look as folks around me gear up for autumn. Instead of getting excited I feel like hibernating, yep, that’s what autumn does for me – with a hint of cooler temps I wanna stay in bed cuddled up with good books, hot chocolate, and maybe balancing soup bowls as I watch crappy shows. If you can’t be a joiner, can you be a hider-nator?
