It’s Music Appreciation Week!

A big factor as to whether or not I enjoy an exercise class is the music — Is it inspiring/enjoyable? Is the volume tolerable? (I hate having to run back to my locker for earplugs . . . ) Appropriate genre for the type of class? Does the instructor have a good sense of rhythm and keep to the beat? Is there soothing cool-down music at the end?

When it comes to playing my iPod while working out, here are my top 5 tunes, based on the highest number of plays on my iTunes playlist.

Actually, that last pick is a shout-out to my Bollywood exercise class — it’s one of the many Indian songs that gets endlessly played back in my head after my weekly Bollywood class. There’s something about that crazy music that I just cannot get out of my head even though I don’t understand a word of the lyrics.
