High Hopes for a Muscular April
|I’m looking forward to some Awesome April Accomplishments — both exercise-wise and otherwise.
In the category of exercise, I’m motivated to change-up my focus because my still-healing broken toe prohibits the use of any cardio except stationary bike. So, I’ve dusted off my old Shimano Cycling shoes and am spinning up a daily sweat.
I’m also doing cardio on the arm bike — can’t wait to see if there’s improvement in my upper arms by the end of the month.
Reduced cardio options means more time to do weights, so I’ve started to do a Saturday Body Pump class. On Sundays, I’m concentrating on weight machines for Inner & Outer Thighs, Leg Press, Hamstring. And, the quest for swimsuit-worthy abs continues — my routine now includes this killer adaptation of the standard scissor exercise for abs: Start in the lying-down position; Lift one leg up a full 90-degrees while the other leg is held 6″ off of the floor; Hold for a count of three; Switch legs; Repeat 25 times.
Another calorie-burning activity in April is Spring Cleaning. I’m in the process of giving my ceramics studio a much-needed top-to-bottom vacuuming and scrubbing.
The rest of my April TO-DO’s are listed below:
- Move into remodeled Kitchen/Bath drawers & cabinets (requires unpacking boxes of stuff currently in garage)
- Re-arrange furniture
- Hang pictures
- Donate a bunch of stuff
- Sort through & discard old paperwork/correspondence
Yes! – I have high hopes for the month of April.
