Mind You Don’t Slip on that Clean Floor
LaFitterina: My inspiration this week is a Functional Fashion Statement. And Comfy, too.
You can just shuffle around the house throughout the day and get the floors cleaned at the same time. You can even wear them outside occasionally (to impress the neighbors when you take out the trash). These fun slippers can be thrown in the wash and come out looking like new. Mine are well over a year old now, showing hardly any signs of wear. Can’t ask for much better!
Cliche Bombardment!!
Ms. Bockle:
I’ve had a week where all sorts of trite phrases came in handy:
- don’t sweat the small stuff
- one day at a time
- let it go
- go with the flow
- tomorrow is another day
- count to ten
- don’t beat yourself up
- take a deep breath
Of course, if I had a mantra — something that would encapsulate all of the above into a phrase that I could repeat whenever the need arose—it would probably be more effective.
Couple other things that I needed to be reminded of this week— even old people need to be mindful of striving towards a balanced life. Work and play, relaxation and stress-releasing exercise need to be part of my daily routine. Also: avoid people who are vexatious to the spirit. Protect myself from situations where my essence could be under attack—which goes back to gettin some ‘stress-releasing exercise’!
Showerspirational
St. Swartz:
Conversation between my younger son and I yesterday morning:
‘You gonna shower before we go register you for school this morning?’
‘Are you going to shower?’
‘I showered last night, I’m good.’
‘No you aren’t mom, when you go to sleep at night little parasites come out and party all over your face.’
‘Wtf? No ways.’
‘Yep, parasites, on your face, having sexy times, and stuff.’
‘Parasites having sexy times on my face?’
‘Yep’
‘Right, shower time.’
‘Yep, thought so.’
