3 Step Turnaround to Happy

Let’s face it, not every day can be a great day. I believe that it is the lows in life that make the highs so great. So what is a girl to do when she can’t seem to get her giddy-up going? Here are a few things that have helped me when my A-game has gone on vacation:
- Have a positive theme song for the day and really let fly. As much as it has been over-played on the radio, I really like “Happy” by Pharrell. It exudes positivity and just makes me smile. Plus I can remember the words or some of them…
- Even when I am not my best, there are at least 3 things that I can be thankful for. Practicing gratitude can be so powerful and I believe helps feed the healing process. Taking a moment to really breathe in my blessing helps me stay present and grounded. Somehow the good starts to brighten things up.
- I also use “I am” statements to remind myself of who I really am. This is especially helpful during a low time. This felt a little awkward at first, but I stare at myself in a mirror and say, “I am healthy and happy.” I say it with heartfelt feeling. You can say any positive statement that you want to attract into your life. Believe me, you are listening.
I have faith that the lows in life are just a moment in time. How we respond to them is our choice. I choose happy.
