Sweat, stretch, relax, rinse, repeat
LaFitterina: Lately, I’ve been liking the decline bench for some sit-ups as my last abs exercise. Then I lay back and treat myself to the feeling of hanging upside down for a few minutes. Almost like being on an inversion table —
Another way to relieve stress on the lower-body vascular system and stimulate circulation is to relax in this wonderful pose for about 5 minutes (my legs get numb if I do this for too long!) —
Sweat, stretch, relax, rinse, repeat — That’s going to be my new favorite mantra!
Inavasion of the Beetles
Ms. Bockle: I’ve been having such an awesome day today, listening to the Beatles music all day long, without even using any of my CDs.
On the way into work today, listening to KFOG, I thought that the dj made a mistake when she said KPAUL, since she was talking about Paul McCartney and his close down Candlestick Park Concert tonight.
But nope, KFOG changed every single KFOG announcement today, and played Paul’s and the Beatles music all day long. I turned on my speaker system when I got home, and it’s still going.
Some of the songs are sad, some encouraging, some with lyrics of protest, some speak of undying love, some angry about mean girls.
I wrote down a few, combining Lennon and McCartney, but had to stop, cuz my mind is dizzy from the music going round and round.
You say you want a revolution
well, you know
we all want to change the world
but when you talk about destruction
Don’t you know that you can count me out…
Imagine there’s no countries
It isn’t hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
and no religion too
Imagine all the people
living life in peace
Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
sharing the world.
Hey Jude, take a sad song and make it better.
Farmer’s Market Inspires Healthy Eating
St. Swartz: Today while veggie shopping at the local farmer’s market I was inspired to make a ratatouille. The tomatoes looked plump and rosy, aubergine grossly purple, and I found some fat, fat, peppers- red, yellow and orange. I’m not a purist with the ratatouille, I just chop up all the ingredients and roast them all together- tastes prettydamnfantastic.
Market fresh produce- so inspiring. Zucchini, yellow squash, tomatoes, aubergine, onion, garlic, peppers- I like red, orange and yellow-, basil, rosemary, thyme, or herbs d’provence. I eat it as my main course while the boys get steak and potatoes along with the roast veg.
Eating dinner on the couch while watching the latest muppet caper movie. My night kicks your nights ass.
